Corel SM62 King of Prussia – Wooden Ship Model Kit – Plank-on-Bulkhead

John Carter, known as the King of Prussia, was one of the most successful and notorious smugglers. of the Penzance region of Cornwall, Great Britain. As a child, he loved to pretend he was Frededrick the Great, King of Prussia and carried that nickname for the rest of his life. John and his brothers, Harry and Charles, practiced their trade from 1777 to 1807. Their home was Prussia Cove (originally Port Leah), a protected cove on the Penzance region of Cornwall, Great Britain. The cove was difficult to reach from the landward side, but offered convenient slipways for landing cargoes of booty. The Carter brothers were fine seamen and owners of two large vessels: a 19-gun cutter of 160 tons, and a 20-gun lugger, each with a crew of around 30 men and equipped with at least one smaller boat for close inshore work.
Corel’s kit ship model kit features plank-on-bulkhead construction.  All wooden parts, including the single-piece keel, bulkheads, deck and smaller wooden parts are laser cut to exacting specifications. The hull is double planked. You’ll use flexible limewood strips for the first layer and rich walnut for the second. The fittings tray holds a wealth of wood, brass and cast metal detail parts. Rigging line, silk-screened flag and cotton saicloth add life-like realism. A wooden display base is also included. Ten large sheets of plans and a comprehensive instruction manual ensure a model a beautiful and historically accurate ship model.
